2025 Solemnity of the Ascencion – Something to Hope For
Three things that we need to be happy. First, something to do. Second, someone to love.
Third, something to hope for. Most people have the first two, something to do, someone to love. But many do not have the last one.
The last one is really important. We will come to the point when we will face the limitations of life, old age, sickness, and death. Without something to hope for, it is very hard to face these realities, old age, sickness, and death.
Something to hope for comes from the Lord who promised in our first reading from the letter to the Hebrews. We have a high priest, Jesus, over the house of God. Let us approach with a sincere heart and absolute trust, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed in pure water.
Let us hold unwaveringly to our confession that gives us hope, for he who made the promise is trustworthy.
