Fourth Sunday of Lent 2025 – The Prodigal Son

Peace and blessings to you on the fourth Sunday of Lent. This Sunday, we continue our part of the renewal experience of Lent. We try to become more real disciples of Jesus. To absorb more deeply His values, His outlook, His Gospel. His and you. In His Gospel, we have one of the most clear descriptions of Jesus’ values. The Gospel is called the parable. The short description of the Gospel. The Gospel of the Gospel.

Here, we understand. Here, we have. The context of this story is very important. Luke tells us. All tax collectors and sinners were coming to listen to Him. And the Pharisees and the scribes, who were the good people? Who were the religious people? They were scandalized. They were shocked. They were disturbed. They said, welcome sinners. And it’s with them. Jesus responds to the reaction of the scribes and Pharisees by telling three stories. Only one of which is told in the Gospel of Luke. Although the title of the story is the prodigal son. But we observe that the emphasis is actually not on the son. But on the Father, who represents Jesus. ~Father Francis
