2025 First Sunday of Advent

The message of this first Sunday Advent tells us about God’s dream, not only for us but for our world. That our world will become one, that there is less corruption. A world that has more justice, where the gap between the poor and the rich will be eradicated.

A world where we care more for each other than we take advantage of power and status and deprive the rest of what makes their life full and happy. For difficult things in life, to please people and not able to, to lie in bed and not able to sleep, to wait for someone who does not come. But I invite you to think of our country in this moment of reflection.

Let us think of the poor who struggle because there are corrupt public officials who steal what make their lives better. And we pray for a world that is more of God’s world and that will only happen when we allow the light of Christ to shine in our life. Let us pause and ask, are we ready to make Christ light and peace come into this world and change today’s world into God’s world of tomorrow.
