Filipinos in the Diocese of Limburg Celebrate Christ the King

The celebration of the last sunday of the liturgical year is dedicated to the feast of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. This year´s feast was held in St. Elisabeth Catholic Church in Burgsolms. The event hosted by Wetzlar Community and attended by almost 250 people from Wiesbaden, Bad Homburg, Frankfurt, Limburg and Frankfurt. The program of the day began with a community prayer and worship to Christ the King with a special intention for the end of wars.

The solemn mass was presided by Fr. Francis Ofrancia which was followed by Eucharistic Adoration and Procession for world peace. The great feast of Christ the King was instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925. Instituting this feast, Pope Pius XI proclaimed: “Pax Christi in regno Christi” (“The peace of Christ in the reign of Christ”). True Peace comes from living our faith in Christ, the King and Prince of Peace.
