Father &amp; Doctor Gil Donayre reflects on the reason why we as a people should be glad in this advent season. Ano ba ang ipinagdiriwang natin bilang mga kristiyano ngayong Advent? Ipinagdiriwnag nating meron tayong Diyos. Ipinagdiriwang natin na ang Diyos na lumikha sa akin at lumikha sa iyo ay nanaog dito sa lupa upang makipamuhay sa atin. Ano ang reason nya bakit bumaba dito sa lupa upang magbigay ng halimbawa sa atin kung ano ang tama at nararapat na pamumuhay bilang isang tao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Homily - Third Sunday of Advent | 17. December 2023\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eQ0hTYsS62w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gospel: John 1:6-8,19-28<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A man came, sent by God.<br>His name was John.<br>He came as a witness,<br>as a witness to speak for the light,<br>so that everyone might believe through him.<br>He was not the light,<br>only a witness to speak for the light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is how John appeared as a witness. When the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, \u2018Who are you?\u2019 he not only declared, but he declared quite openly, \u2018I am not the Christ.\u2019 \u2018Well then,\u2019 they asked \u2018are you Elijah?\u2019 \u2018I am not\u2019 he said. \u2018Are you the Prophet?\u2019 He answered, \u2018No.\u2019 So they said to him, \u2018Who are you? We must take back an answer to those who sent us. What have you to say about yourself?\u2019 So John said, \u2018I am, as Isaiah prophesied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a voice that cries in the wilderness:<br>Make a straight way for the Lord.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now these men had been sent by the Pharisees, and they put this further question to him, \u2018Why are you baptising if you are not the Christ, and not Elijah, and not the prophet?\u2019 John replied, \u2018I baptise with water, but there stands among you \u2013 unknown to you \u2013 the one who is coming after me; and I am not fit to undo his sandal-strap.\u2019 This happened at Bethany, on the far side of the Jordan, where John was baptising.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rev.
