The Wetzlar Filipino Catholic Community has started in the year 2009 by the Couples for Christ. Originally, it was just a seminar gathering under the leadership of Sonia Heinz. They started with seven members until they reached the number of fifteen members and all of them are Filipino.

On the first year of their anniversary as a group, Fr. Melchor Braga, a Filipino priest and Fr. Kollas, a German priest celebrated the Holy Mass. In the succeeding months, it became a regular celebration in the community because of the interest of the group to hear the Holy Eucharist.

After two years, the Couples for Christ left from Wetzlar community but that did not dampened the spirit of the other members. They continued with the regular activities of the community and maintained the celebration of the Holy Mass every month. Until finally, the Diocese of Limburg appointed an official Filipino Chaplain for the community in the name of Rev. Fr. Benedicto B. Pola, Jr., OC. He celebrated the Holy Eucharist every month until the last Saturday of October 2017.
