The new chaplain of the Filipino Catholic Communities in the area of the Diocese of Limburg received a warm and hearty welcome in a Eucharistic celebration held in Sankt Ignatius in Frankfurt on November 15, 2020.

Fr. Francis Ofrancia, who comes from the Diocese of Alaminos in the Philippines, has been appointed as the new chaplain of the Filipino Catholics in the Diocese of Limburg, Germany. His appointment came after the term of service of Fr. Mario Estrella, OC ended on November 30, 2020. Fr. Estrella served the Philippine communities for three years since 2017. The reception and introduction ceremony were attended by the representatives of the five communities in the diocese. Present also in the ceremony was Mr. Winfried Montz, who represented Ms. Alexandra Schumann from the Department of Pastoral Services and Fr. Bernd Günther, the Rector of Sankt Ignatius Parish in Frankfurt.

Fr. Ofrancia emphasized in his speech that his presence in the community must not be seen as a sign of authority and power but more as a sign of God´s friendship, a sign of God´s being close and near to his people. He will be the pastor of five Philippine communities: Frankfurt, Wetzlar, Wiesbaden, Bad Homburg, and Limburg.
