The Filipino Catholic Community of Frankfurt has organized an overnight youth activity last May 25 to 26, 2018 in order to develop the relationships among the youth members of the parish and increase their awareness on responsibility as young people. Some of the activities help them to learn more about church and her teachings and most of all is to encounter God in prayer.
There are around 20 young people aged 14 and above who attended the said activity. The group has started to meet on Friday at 6 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Parish hall, Frankfurt am Main where they participated in the fun and solemn activities that includes amazing race challenge, catechism, lecture on responsibility, taizé prayer, sharing of experiences and dialogues.
The youth were divided into groups in order to enhance their interpersonal relationships, knowing their other youth members deeper through shared experiences which the young people face in daily living. The prayer helps them to enhance their faith and realized the value of family, friendship and always to be thankful to God for all the graces bestowed on them.
The event was sponsored by their loving and supportive parents and benefactors. And most especially our Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Mario Estrella.
The facilitators described the overnight formation as a very successful one. It was a very solemn event walking with the young in their spiritual journey. The impressions of the participants were astonishing when they recounted their personal experiences during the Sunday mass at the St Ignatius Church. They said they felt the love of God and helped them appreciate and how to love Him in return.
