Frankfurt

The Filipino Catholic Community in Frankfurt is under the jurisdiction of the Bistum Limburg. The members of the community are Filipinos not only from Frankfurt but also from the neighboring places as far as Darmstadt, Offenbach. Nieder-Grundau and Main-Taunus-Kreis.

The history of this community began in 1995 when the members of El Shaddai Prayer Partners Foundation International Frankfurt Chapter started to gather and have prayer gatherings in small places. As the group grew in number, there was a need to look for a convenient and suitable location for their spiritual assemblies. Through the support and assistance of German friends, the St. Ignatius Church was finally offered to them as the center of their religious activities.

In the course of time, out of this El Shaddai prayer group emanated the Couples for Christ until it was decided to finally form a Filipino Catholic Community with the support of a Filipino priest from Belgium, Fr. Rene Mangahas, SVD. After sometime, the supervision of the community was assumed by Fr. Fernando Santos, SVD but he left in 2007. Fr. Agustin Nkwain, a Nigerian priest was assigned by the Diocese of Limburg to cater the spiritual needs of the community in St. Ignatius Church Frankfurt.

The community in Frankfurt hosts mostly the Diocesan events like Sinulog.
